How To Convert Video Songs To MP3 Audio Songs Using VLC Player

Step 1

Open VLC Media Player. In the menu, click on Media and choose Convert/Save…. This utility in VLC Player allows the users to convert Videos from one format to another and we are going to use this utility to convert MP4 to MP3.

Step 2

Now click on Add… button to select the video song that you want to convert to MP3 audio song. Browse to the location of the Video Song and select it. In this tutorial, I am using Big Buck Bunny video for converting videos to MP3 using VLC Player. I have placed this video on Desktop.

Click on checkbox to Show more options. You can change the start time of Video here. This option is useful if you want to skip some part of the MP4 Video song while converting it to MP3 song using VLC Player.

Step 3

Click on Arrow in Convert/Save button and choose Convert to convert MP4 to MP3 using VLC media player. You will see Convert window where you can change the output video format and many other options.

Choose the Audio-MP3 format for your video from the drop-down list to convert selected video to mp3 audio using VLC Player.

Step 4

Click on Settings icon next to the format drop-down list. In the Settings, click on Audio Codec tab to change audio bit rate, sampling frequency and other options. You can leave these options as it is if you don’t know what to change. Click on Save after making necessary changes.

It is time to choose destination file name and path for output file. Video converted to MP3 audio will be saved to the selected location. Click on Browse button and choose output file location and give a name to converted MP3 audio file and click on Save.

Step 5

We are ready to convert the MP4 Video song to MP3 audio song using VLC Player.

Just click on Start button to start MP4 to MP3 conversion. It may take some time depending upon the length of your video.

After the conversion is complete, close VLC Player. Your “Video converted from MP4 to MP3″ will be saved to selected output location. Browse to the output file location. In this tutorial, we have saved our MP4 to MP3 converted file to desktop. You can double-click the converted file to test it.
